Dashboards — Tips

• Build a report once, then drop it on any dashboard — report-backed tiles stay in sync with the report. • For a KPI sparkline, set Trend by to a date field; without one the card just shows the number. • Group a chart's date field By month and set the Range to read the last quarter or year at a glance. • Nothing is saved until Save dashboard — Cancel is a safe undo for a whole editing session. • To roll up related records across tables in a tile, point it at a saved report rather than an ad-hoc metric. • Cross-filtering works on a tile you're still configuring, before the dashboard is saved — the preview narrows with everything else.
