Importing data — Good to know

• Analysis samples only the first 300 rows of each sheet, so a type call can miss patterns that appear later in a large file — check the types on the review step. The full file still imports. • Relation values that don't match a row name in the related table are left blank, not kept as text; matching ignores case and surrounding spaces but the text must otherwise be identical. The confirmation screen shows a count whenever values go unmatched. • A CSV file or Excel sheet needs a header row plus at least one data row — otherwise it is skipped without warning. • A second header row is only recognised where the rows under it hold numbers or dates. In a sheet that is all text it is imported as a record, which you can delete afterwards. • A file with no date past the twelfth of a month cannot say whether it is written day first or month first. Check the note under the column on the review step: it shows how one such date will be read and lets you switch. • Month and weekday names in dates are read in English. Dates written with another language’s month names are not read as dates; the review step counts them and they are kept as written.
