Importing data — Good to know (2)
• A time zone written after a time (Z, +01:00) is not applied. The time is imported as written, so convert the column first if the times need to be in another zone.
• A dollar sign on its own does not say which dollar. A file that writes Canadian or Australian dollars as a plain $ is read as your own dollar, and if that is the currency you already see amounts in, no note appears. Set the currency on the field afterwards if the file meant another one.
• A currency symbol is only read on a column typed Currency. If a column of amounts was typed Text or Number on the review step, switch its type to Currency there and its currency note appears.
• A number written like 1,024 or 12.500 does not say whether its comma or dot is the decimal mark. Where no other number in the column settles it, it is read the way you write numbers yourself. If the file came from somewhere that writes them the other way, use the picker in the note under the column on the review step.
