Tables & field types — Tips
• Fields show up in the grid in the order you add them — plan your column order before you start adding.
• Lookup and Rollup routes can cross several relationships — the route picker groups them by distance ("Directly linked", "2 relationships away", …).
• A record is named by its table's first field — put the one that identifies a record (its name, title, or number) at the top.
• Templates are a starting point: delete their fields or add your own freely after the table is created.
• Add a Relation field before a Lookup — the Lookup can only follow Relations that already exist on the table.
• In a Formula, {Field Name} works across a link too — {Company.Industry} needs no Lookup field first.
• An AI field never generates on its own — no cell is written until you click ✦ on it or run a bulk fill, so opening a big table costs nothing.
• A Date field can carry a time — tick Include a time on the field. Turning it off never erases times already stored.
